Our ladder signs are perfect for entrance signs and can be customised to your needs. As standard, they can feature 1, 2, or 3 signs on the posts, but we offer plenty of options to suit your preferences. Choose from natural oak or iroko wood with painted, carved letters, or opt for painted ladder signs available in a wide range of colours.

Most of our painted signs are crafted from Sapele, a highly stable hardwood, which has a beautiful satin smooth paint finish. For posts other options are available - softwood provides cheaper option but is not as durable as hardwood. It can help keeping the posts out of the ground using post holders - see below.

For an alternative to traditional wood, you can choose sign panels made from Tricoya board, a high-performance wood-based material bonded with a premium resin. Tricoya is stable, strong, weatherproof, and environmentally friendly, with a 50-year guarantee. The paint is unlikely to last that long though, but we do offer refurbishment services to restore and refresh your sign when needed.

Our painted entrance signs are finished with a two-component polyurethane paint, offering superior durability compared to standard brush-on paints. This paint is tougher, longer-lasting, and more resistant to chemicals, ensuring your sign remains vibrant and resilient for years to come.

Single-sided signs can be morticed into the posts or mounted with hidden front fixings. Double-sided signs, however, must be morticed into the posts to be able to be seen from both sides.

Natural Oak ladder Signs with carved and painted letters are first treated with a wood preservative and then varnished with a tough satin finish commercial varnish. Signs with white lettering are treated with Osmo Oil. Iroko signs can only be treated with Devon Oil. 

Oak is a very beautiful timber and with maintenance can last a lifetime. Iroko is also a durable hardwood and somewhat similar to teak, being naturally rich in oils and therfore requiring less maintenance.

For colours we don't stock the cost is £65 per colour per order. We can also match most Farrow & Ball colours.

Lettering can be in any of our huge range of fonts. Standard size ladder signs are list below but we can quote for other sizes. Shaped tops can also be made in any of the sizes - just ask for a quote. 

For extra protection we can coat with high gloss Coach-Kote - a clear version of the coach enamel used on the kings carriages at Buckingham Palace - ask for a quote.
