The standard sizes for slate house signs are 2" 50mm high, 75mm 3" high,100mm 4" high, 150mm 6" high and 225mm 9" high. . Letter size is not fixed and is adjusted to suit the sign. We have a large selection of fonts to choose from. Standard letter colours - White, Black, Gold, Farrow & Ball colour Purbeck Stone (light grey) and Farrow & Ball Lichen (light green)

Rustic Slate House Signs
These rustic edge slate house signs are excellent value for money. They are made from 6-8mm slate with a rough edge finish. The letters are carved into the slate by sand blasting and then painted with a very tough and durable external paint. The softer colours such as Farrow & Ball Purbeck Stone or Lichen look very effective on this type of slate sign.
Round and Oval Slate & Granite Name Plates
Round and oval granite and slate signs are slightly more expensive than straight edged signs due to the extra cutting costs involved. However, they look very effective in certain settings and can be worth the extra cost. Sizes from 150mm - 600mm ( 6 inches - 24 inches).
YOUR CHOICES
Letters - Font and Colour
The letters are painted gold, white, black, Farrow & Ball colour - Purbeck Stone (light grey) and Lichen (pale green) as standard but we have a range of other colours. Another technique is to blast the background away and leave the lettering raised and unpainted. When leaving letters raised we must use bold fonts without any fine line. Images
We can include simple images on our slate house signs.
We have a great collection of standard images available at a cost of £12.50 per image under 100mm. You can also send in you own artwork - Click Here. We can use your own artwork at a cost of £34.50.

Lakeland Slate Signs
As an alternative to the standard grey slate we have Lakeland Green Slate which is quarried from a tiny quarry in the Lake District. This is a beautiful slate with lovely markings which makes it quite unique. It is much harder than the standard grey slate too, which means it will be even more durable. It is available in the 20mm thickness and can be cut to any size. As you would expect it is more expensive but to many people it is well worth it.
