Engraved Plaques

Engraved plaques are used for many different purposes. They can be use for house signs, memorial, plaques and indeed for all kinds of business signs. We have a range of materials for engraving. Brass is the most traditional and the one most people think of first. There are lots of others though, many of which need far less maintenance. We cater for all budgets, and whether you want a small brass memorial plaque, a granite wedge, or a large cast bronze memorial, the designers will do their best to create it just the way you want it.

Painted Signs for Home and Business

After so many years of vinyl signage dominating the market, the traditional painted sign is making a comeback - so much so that these are the most popular signs we now sell. Our modern painted signs do have advantages over signs made many years ago - tough more durable paints along with special modified timber and a wood-based board which is almost impervious to water

Wooden Signs

We make a huge range of wooden signs in a large range of timbers. On this page we are showing a whole variety of wooden signage which we have made to our customers specifications. Slate and Stone Signs

We use a lot of slate and other stone for house signs, business signs and memorials. The slate is stocked in various thicknesses and can be cut to any size. Personalised engraved door steps are quite unique. We also stock a lot of granite which again is used for signs and memorials. The  most popular granites are the black, dark grey and the Celtic grey. The granite memorial wedges are available in these three colours. Other stone used include Purbeck stone, sandstone, limestone and marble.

Business Signage

Although our sign company is based in North Devon, we can dispatch business signage throughout the UK and to most international locations.

All of our designers and craftsmen work on site, utilizing specialized workshops for wooden signs and products, stone signs and memorials, laser-engraved and traditionally engraved plaques and memorials, sandblasting, vinyl signage, as well as a modern print room and spray room. Wheel Cover

At The Sign Maker, the craftsmen in the wheel cover workshop produce a wide variety of wheel covers. We offer traditional wheel covers with a harde disk, which can feature printed designs or cut vinyl lettering—perfect for business branding. We can also wrap the disk in printed or plain vinyl before sewing it on the skirt, which is available in seven colors. Additionally, we create soft wheel covers and tyre covers in any size, available in both printed and plain options.

Hanging Signs

Our carpenters make the posts in different timbers and different styles and these can be painted or varnished. Our blacksmith creates a variety of wrought iron hanging brackets. House Signs Gallery

We do make a lot of house signs and every on is unique. You choose the size, the font, the letter colour, the material and an image if you would like them. This does make it a little difficult to choose one though - just so much choice! Have a look at this gallery of signs we have done for our customers to give you some ideas. It contains all the usual wood, slate cast metal etc. There are however some more unusual materials such as etched zinc and top quality polyurethane, both of which have raised letters, are long lasting and low maintenance.
