In our wood workshops the carpenters make top quality chestnut, iroko and painted or varnished sapele framed blackboards and whiteboards. These are available plain or with your personalised information.

To personalised your whiteboard or blackboard we can laser engraved  the natural wood frame,apply vinyl lettering to the board or paint lettering on the painted frames.

The frames are normally treated in a satin varnish to show the natural beauty of the wood. However we can also paint them white, black or a range of other colours including many Farrow and Ball, providing you don't require the laser engraving. If we are to paint the timber we use accoya instead of oak the paint will last a lot longer.

The aluminium composite blackboard is only suitable for real chalk.

The Tricoya board Blackboard can be used with chalk sticks or liquid chalk pens.

The following dry-wipe pens have been tested and do not leave leaving any trace of ink on the surface when cleaned. -Staedlter, Pilot, Nobo, 5 star office and Universal Office Supplies range.

The above sizes are our standard blackboards and whiteboards and offer the best value for money. However we can make them just the way you want them.  You can increase the board size or the frame depth.  We can also make them double sided using thicker timber for the frame. Larger  black boards and white boards would also need 30mm thick timber for the frames if they are to be free standing. 

As standard the frames are made in chestnut, but if you prefer we will make up the standard sizes for the same cost in iroko wood or sapele wood. Iroko is full of oil and needs less maintenance outside. Sapele is a red timber similar to mahogany.

The board in the photo to the right has a painted wooden frame with a shaped top. The extra cost for the shaped top is £20. The extra for painted frame is £7. The decoration was done with chalk pens.

Personalise your blackboard or white board

Add a line of vinyl lettering on the board @ £7.50. This can be in any colour and up to 100mm high. Prices include 50 letters, Extra characters £1.65 per 25. Minimum letter size 20mm. Add an image from our huge image library @ £9.50

Laser engrave the oak or painted lettering on the top or bottom of the frame @ £15.00. 
To engrave top and bottom the cost is £25.00.
Lasered lettering looks very effective just burnt into the wood but it can be paint filled if you prefer @ £7.50.

The decoration on this blackboard was done with chalk pens. ie its not permanent!
