In our wood workshops, our skilled carpenters craft top-quality framed blackboards and whiteboards using beautiful timbers such as varnished Oak or Sapele, and oiled Iroko. Each board can be supplied plain or personalised to your requirements.
To personalise your blackboard or whiteboard, we can laser engrave the natural wooden frame, apply vinyl lettering to the board, or hand-paint lettering onto painted frames.
The frames are usually finished in a satin varnish to highlight the natural beauty of the wood. However, if you prefer a painted finish, we can produce frames in white, black, or a wide range of colours - including many from the Farrow & Ball collection. For the painted signs we use the very stable hardwood Sapele.
Personalise your blackboard

Add a line of vinyl lettering on the board @ £7.50. This can be in any colour and up to 100mm high. Prices include 50 letters, Extra characters £1.65 per 25. Minimum letter size 20mm.
Laser engrave the oak or painted lettering on the top or bottom of the frame @ £15.00. To engrave top and bottom the cost is £25.00.

The decoration on thie painted blackboard was done with chalk pens. ie its not permanent!

Sizes and Prices
The sizes listed below are our standard blackboards and whiteboards, offering the best value for money. However, as all our boards are made to order, we can easily adjust the design to suit your needs. You can increase the board size, deepen the frame, or even choose a double-sided option with a thicker timber frame. These blackboards and whiteboards can be left outside. They are weatherproof in most conditions.
Our frames are most often made in Oak, but we can also craft in the less expensive hardwoods - Iroko or Sapele

Iroko is naturally rich in oil, making it ideal for outdoor use with minimal maintenance.

Sapele has a beautiful reddish tone, similar to mahogany, offering a warm, elegant appearance. (same cost as Iroko)
Painted Frame Edged Tricoya
Tricoya is an exceptional material - completely weatherproof and waterproof, making it ideal for outdoor use. Each board is carefully finished with the frame edges, sides, and back painted in any of our standard colours, while the front panel is painted in traditional blackboard paint.
Another option, slightly more expensive, is a 6mm Trycoya panel painted with blackboard paint, with a natural wood frame.
