Standard Post with Arm & Fittings
for Hanging Signs

For natural timber we use Oak or Iroko. Oak is extremely strong, durable, and heavy, but also the most expensive option. It is usually treated with a tough satin varnish or a black wood preservative, though it can also be treated with Osmo Oil.
Iroko, another hardwood, has a high natural oil content and can only be finished with Danish Oil.

For painted post and arms Sapele is very stable and a more affordable hardwood option that requires thorough treatment, making it ideal for painted posts.
Softwood is a cost-effective choice but is less durable than Sapele. 

Finally, we offer a good value rustic post and arm made from tanalised timber. This timber is pressure-treated with preservatives, enhancing its durability and resistance to rot, fungi, mold, and insects.

The standard post height is 8ft or 9 ft (2.4m or 2.7m), with an arm morticed into the post to fit the sign length. If ordering a post without a sign, please specify the desired arm length. For more details on post planting depth, click here.

As standard we supply stainless steel fittings - 4 eyeplates and 2 quick links. However we can upgrade to black wrought iron hooks and rings for £40.
