2024 was an amazing year filled with lots of new products for us here at The Sign Maker - give our latest blog a ready to discover which products were developed last year. 

As 2024 comes to a close, we’re reflecting on a year filled with challenges and triumphs. Like many businesses, we faced our fair share of obstacles, but with the unwavering support of our incredible team and loyal customers, we’ve made it through stronger than ever. Despite the tougher moments, 2024 brought us plenty of opportunities to innovate and create. Let’s take a look back at some of the exciting products we developed this year!

 

Hardwood Header

One of our standout creations from 2024 was the Hardwood Header, a stunning hanging sign that seamlessly blends traditional and modern aesthetics. The sign panel is available in several durable materials, including Aluminium Composite, Solid Aluminium, and our customer favourite, Tough Print.

The panel is expertly set into a Sapele hardwood top by our skilled carpenter, ensuring a perfect fit. We designed this product with flexibility in mind, offering hanging fixings that can attach to an existing bracket or one of our handcrafted wrought iron brackets.

This design was originally developed for a coastal business owner who loved the look of timber but wanted a low-maintenance option to withstand the harsh coastal environment. The result was the Hardwood Header, paired with a Tough Print panel for maximum durability—and the customer couldn’t have been happier!

Ultra Wheel Cover

2024 also saw the introduction of our Ultra Wheel Covers. These covers are crafted from an even tougher plastic than our standard versions, making them ideal for frequent travellers and off-road adventurers. Designed for durability and practicality, the Ultra Wheel Cover is perfect for anyone on the move looking for a long-lasting solution.

Rustic Posts

For customers seeking a truly rustic aesthetic, we created a unique Rustic Post and Slice Sign. This design features a large, rustic wood slice suspended from a treated post. While the sign itself will require periodic maintenance, the post has been tanalised for longevity, ensuring minimal upkeep. This product is perfect for those who love a natural, weathered look.

Bespoke Chopping Boards

This year, we expanded our range of wooden chopping boards to offer fully bespoke options. While our stock boards remain popular, we wanted to give customers the freedom to design a chopping board in the exact size they need. As always, we offer custom engraving to add a personal touch, making each board as unique as its owner.

Corian Plaques with Stakes

Inspired by the versatility of our memorial crosses, we developed a new product: Corian Plaques with Metal Stakes. Corian is a highly durable material that mimics the appearance of stone and is ideal for intricate engravings. After some research and development led by Shaun, our director, we found that these plaques could be paired with metal stakes using squirrel fixings.

This all-in-one memorial is perfect for those seeking a small, elegant solution and is available in a 150 x 100mm size.

Bamboo Caskets

One of the latest additions to our memorial product line is the Bamboo Casket. These beautiful caskets offer a budget-friendly option for memorials. We also introduced a version with a photo slot, providing a heartfelt way to honour loved ones.
