UV Printing for Indoor & Outdoor Use

The latest addition to The Sign Maker workshops is our new direct UV printer, giving us even more ways to create signs, plaques, memorials and personalised products.

Alongside our existing processes of engraving, laser engraving, sandblasting, painting and impact engraving, we can now print full colour photographs, logos, artwork and lettering directly onto a wide range of materials.

Our UV printer can print onto many of the materials we already use, from clear acrylic, aluminium and Corian to timber and even heavy 30mm slate. The ink is cured directly onto the surface, producing a crisp, durable finish suitable for both indoor and outdoor use.

Direct UV printing is ideal when you want detailed artwork, photographic images or bright full colour designs. Depending on the material and the look required, we can also create either a matt or gloss finish.

Photographs, Logos, Artwork & Lettering

UV printing has several useful advantages, especially for signs, plaques, memorials and personalised products:

• Full colour printing – ideal for photographs, logos, detailed artwork, gradients and multi-coloured designs.
• Prints directly onto the material – there is no need to apply printed vinyl, giving a clean, professional finish.
• Works on many different surfaces – including acrylic, aluminium, timber, Corian and thick slate.
• Suitable for indoor and outdoor use – UV-cured inks create a durable finish that can withstand normal outdoor conditions.
• Excellent detail and sharpness – particularly useful for small lettering, fine graphics and photographic images.
• White ink printing – allows colour images and lettering to be printed effectively onto dark, coloured or clear materials.
• Matt or gloss finishes – the appearance can be tailored to suit the product.

It is particularly valuable for full colour memorial photographs, bespoke house signs, business signs and one-off personalised designs.
