UV Printing for Indoor & Outdoor Use
The latest addition to The Sign Maker workshops is our new direct UV printer, giving us even more ways to create signs, plaques, memorials and personalised products.
Alongside our existing processes of engraving, laser engraving, sandblasting, painting and impact engraving, we can now print full colour photographs, logos, artwork and lettering directly onto a wide range of materials.
Our UV printer can print onto many of the materials we already use, from clear acrylic, aluminium and Corian to timber and even heavy 30mm slate. The ink is cured directly onto the surface, producing a crisp, durable finish suitable for both indoor and outdoor use.
Direct UV printing is ideal when you want detailed artwork, photographic images or bright full colour designs.
Photographs, Logos, Artwork & Lettering
UV printing has several useful advantages, especially for signs, plaques, memorials and personalised products:
- Full colour printing – ideal for photographs, logos, detailed artwork, gradients and multi-coloured designs.
- Prints directly onto the material – there is no need to apply printed vinyl, giving a clean, professional finish.
- Works on many different surfaces – including acrylic, aluminium, timber, Corian and even thick slate.
- Suitable for indoor and outdoor use – UV-cured inks create a durable finish that can withstand normal outdoor conditions.
- Excellent detail and sharpness – particularly useful for small lettering, fine graphics and photographic images.
- White ink printing – allows colour images and lettering to be printed effectively onto dark, coloured or clear materials.
- Matt or gloss finishes – the appearance can be tailored to suit the product.
- Works alongside other processes – UV printing can be used on its own or combined with engraving, laser engraving, sandblasting, painting or impact engraving to create more detailed and distinctive finished products.

Our You Create – We Make range can be house signs, house numbers, gift signs, information signs & business signs up to A3 size. Create your artwork using ChatGPT, Canva or other software & upload.
We UV direct print onto aluminium composite which is lightweight, rigid, durable and low maintenance, making it excellent for both indoor & outdoor signs
Good Value Photo Memorials
Personalised full colour memorial plaques made from durable 3mm aluminium composite and UV printed with your photograph and wording. Choose your background colour, lettering colour, font & finish, and our designer will create the layout. UV Printed Wooden Ashes Caskets
We can now UV print wording and full colour images directly onto the wood, creating a beautifully personalised ashes casket without the need for a separate plaque. Names, dates, messages, decorative designs and photographs of a loved one or pet can all be added.
The print is cured directly onto the surface, creating a durable, waterproof finish that will not simply scratch off. Wording can be kept simple and traditional, or combined with a photograph or detailed design for something more personal. UV printing is an excellent choice when you want full colour, fine detail and a photographic image reproduced directly onto the casket.
