Slate Memorial with Photos

We can use our powerful laser to etch into the surface of the slate.

This technique is ideal where smaller text or detailed images are required, that would not be possible to deep engrave or sandblast into the slate.

We are also able to laser etch good photos into slate. We can make memorials using a combination of the two methods, whereby we deep engraved and paint the lettering and add a laser engraved photo.

Lastly laser etching takes us less time and materials than sand-blasting or deep engraving and therefore it is considerably cheaper.

Welsh slate is considered by many to be the best slate in the world. It is harder, denser and stronger than other slate and this makes it more durable with a longer lifespan.

The surface has a more even colouration which in turn lasers considerable better. Having said that, we will always try to pick the best piece of standard slate to use when lasering.

The lettering is laser etched into the slate. As it is not deep engraved it cannot be paint filled. Price includes the first 50, there after £3 per 50.

It does have the advantage that small text can be used. This is ideal for lots of words such as a poem.

The sign in the image has had the outer edge sand-blasted away. This does set the wording off beautifully.

There is no problem using images on lasered etch slate memorials. You can use any of the images from our image library at a cost of £12.50 per image or border. Alternatively our designer will find an image or border for you @ £24.50 or you can find one on www.shutterstock.com and we can purchase it for you @ £24.50.
