Anodised aluminium really is tough stuff and this is what gives Anoprinted signs such a long life - the image is locked inside the hard anodised layer. Unlike surface printing or vinyl graphics, anoprinting cannot be picked or scraped off the surface.

The anoprint is the surface and a very tough one at that. Ideal for full colour information signs, full colour memorials and name plates. The background colour choices for text are silver or gold. If photos are to be included silver is the best choice.

These plaques stand up to a lot more than just a bit of weather. For most outdoor signs we apply a specially developed vandal resistant lacquer. This gives extra protection to the surface and the high gloss finish helps to keep the sign clean without maintenance.

In our digital age it is becoming increasingly popular to remember our loved ones with a full colour photo memorial plaque. All we need is a good colour photograph along with your words of remembrance to create a beautiful plaque. These plaques look really classy when mounted on a wooden backing board. The plaques below are all on silver anoprinted, but gold is also a possibility. It looks like brass but no polishing is needed!.

The memorial plaques can be use alone or set into wood, slate, granite or corian. For all outdoor locations a specialist laminate is applied to reduce fading or photos. The black text does not fade even in the stongest sunlight, but we do suggest that memorials with photos are placed away from the strongest sunlight to make them last as long as possible.

What is a full colour anodised aluminium plaque?

A full colour anodised aluminium plaque is produced using a specialist process known as anoprinting. The wording, photographs and graphics are sealed within the hard anodised surface of the aluminium rather than simply printed on top.

How durable are anoprinted aluminium plaques?

Anoprinted aluminium plaques are extremely durable. Because the design is locked inside the anodised layer, it cannot easily be scratched, picked or scraped away. The smooth surface is also easy to clean, making these plaques suitable for busy public buildings as well as memorials and outdoor signs.

Can anodised aluminium plaques be used outdoors?

Yes. Anodised aluminium plaques can be used both indoors and outdoors. For most outdoor plaques, we apply a specially developed protective lacquer to provide additional resistance to weathering and vandalism.

Will a full colour photograph fade outdoors?

All colour photographs will gradually fade when exposed to sunlight for long periods. Our outdoor plaques receive additional protection to help reduce fading, but we recommend positioning photo plaques away from the strongest direct sunlight whenever possible. Black lettering is particularly resistant to fading.

What can be printed on an anodised aluminium plaque?

We can include wording, full colour photographs, logos, maps, illustrations and detailed artwork. The anoprinting process produces crisp lettering and clear, detailed images with a smooth, professional finish.

Can I supply my own photograph?

Yes. You can send us your own photograph to include on the plaque. A clear, high-resolution original image will normally produce the best result. Good-quality photographs and ready-to-print images are included within our standard prices.

Can I provide my own finished artwork?

Yes. You are welcome to send us complete, ready-to-print artwork. Alternatively, tell us what wording, photograph and layout you would like, and our designers can create the plaque for you.

Do you provide a proof before making the plaque?

Yes. We will prepare a design proof for you to check before production. This gives you the opportunity to review the wording, spelling, photograph and overall layout before the plaque is made.

Are silver and gold aluminium available?

Yes. You can choose either a silver or gold anodised aluminium background. Silver is normally the best choice for full colour photographs, while gold creates a traditional appearance similar to polished brass without requiring regular polishing.

What surface finishes are available?

Anoprinted aluminium plaques can be supplied with a matt, satin or gloss finish. We can advise which finish will best complement your photograph, artwork and intended location.

Can the plaque be mounted on a wooden backing board?

Yes. These plaques look particularly attractive when mounted onto a shaped wooden backing board. Prices are available both with and without a backing board.

Can the plaque be incorporated into another material?

Yes. Anoprinted aluminium plaques can be used on their own or inset into materials such as wood, slate, granite or Corian. This makes them a versatile choice for memorials, commemorative plaques, information signs and interpretation panels.

Are custom sizes available?

How should I clean an anodised aluminium plaque?
