Stone-like Corian Memorial Plaques
Stone-like Corian is a stand-out material that is perfect for memorial plaques. Durable, fade-proof and virtually maintenance free - there are numerous benefits to having a memorial made from Corian. Designs can be engraved or an aluminium plaque can be inserted if this is the finish that you desire. Corian is availible in a variety of sizes and colours, allowing you to personalise a tribute in a less traditional way too.

Eco-Friendly Paperstone
PaperStone is the ideal choice for those looking for sustainable memorials. This material is new to The Sign Maker for 2022, but it is already a favourite for our team. PaperStone is smooth to the touch, and can be engraved for memorials
To test that it was completely waterproof we left samples in a water trough for 3 months and they came out perfect.
The lettering can be painted or left unpainted as shown in the image.

Engraved Brass Memorial Plaque
The most traditional memorial products that we make are our brass plaques. A timeless classic since the 13th century, we have always loved crafting brass memorials. These plaques are often engraved in a script font, with the lettering left unpainted, however we can modernise the appearance of these memorials with colourful lettering or unique design work. Additionally, we can craft the brass memorial plaques with a wooden backing board or memorial cross, a popular finish here at The Sign Maker.

Chemically Etched Brass Plaques
The main benefit of chemical etching over engraving is no mechanical stress to the material and no cutter marks as the unwanted material is removed by chemicals leaving clear sharp flat surface detail. Much of the detail can be extremely fine as required and can even include black & white photos. Letters can also be much smaller than is possible with normal engraving. In addition to all this, colour infills can be used in close proximity to each other.

Good Value Engraved Plaques in Acrylic Laminate
At The Sign Maker, we pride ourselves on crafting high-quality signage and memorials for all budgets. Acrylic Laminate is a material that makes for budget friendly memorial pieces.

Despite being lower in cost, acrylic laminate has numerous strengths and benefits. These memorials are virtually maintenance free and durable, as well as being both weather proof and UV resistant - ideal for an outdoor memorial plaque. We have a wide range of colours availible, and we believe that the acrylic memorial plaques look great when secured and mounted to a wooden backing board.

Black or Coloured Anodised Aluminium
These plaques are ideal for memorial plaques as they look smart and are are maintenance free. They are made from 1.5mm black anodised plus  coloured anodisal aluminium. The letters are engraved through the black or coloured layer of laminate to show the silver colour underneath. Photos can also be laser engraved into the black aluminium.

Laser Engraved Stainless Steel Plaques
These tough and maintenance free stainless steel plates are often used as Memorial Plaques. Unlike normal engraving, the lettering is not actually engraved into the metal. This has a major advantage - the lettering can be smaller and the images and logos can also be far more detailed. Even good quality photos can be used. Although not engraved into the metal the lettering is permanent and as tough as the metal beneath..

All-in-one Plaque & Holder
These sturdy moulded plaque holders measure 295mm in height and hold a 1.5mm thick engraved plaque (119 x 68mm). These understated memorial pieces make for ideal plant stakes, grave markers and memorial tree stakes - a beautiful way to pay tribute to somebody in a perfectly simple way. As an all in one piece, you will receieve both the stake and the plaque - ideal for someone who possibly has a smaller budget for a memorial.

The plaque can be crafted using materials such as brass, aluminium, stainless steel and acrylic laminate - all of which have a uniqueness about them so the design really relies on personal preference, enabling you to choose something that work for you.

Heart Shaped Memorials
A special way to pay tribute to a loved one is with one of our heart shaped memorials. Crafted in the shape of a heart in a wide variety of materials (stone, wood and metal) and colours too, we find that these pieces are incredibly popular.

Heart shaped memorials can be made in Black or Grey Granite, Cast Bronze or Aluminium, Oak or Iroko wooden timber and lastly Corian in any one of the stone colours. There are a number of standard sizes or alternatively, the Corian and Wooden Heart Memorials can be cut to size as part of our extensive bespoke catalogue. In addition, we can partner these pieces with a wood or metal stake to help you present your piece.

Backing Boards
We can supply backing boards in various timbers on which to mount your memorial plaque. When ordering your backing board we would suggest it should be 20mm large than the plaque in height and width.

Tree Stakes
We have a good range of tree stakes available. These include simple wrought iron tree stakes to modern angle iron with a security pin for mounting into concrete. There are also wooden tree stakes and plaque holders for larger memorial plaques.
