Wooden Estate and Farm Signs 

Wooden Estate Signs are a speciality for us. We have carpenters on site and can make virtually any wooden signs in our wood workshops. For farm signs, Douglas Fir or Red Cedar are frequently used. Both are durable and can survive with little maintenance - we know how busy farmers are!  The Red Cedar actually looks lovely untreated, as it gently silvers with age. It is full of its own oil, which is why treatment is unnecessary.

Lettering
The letters are first cut into thick rubber stencils which are applied to the timber. The design is then carved out by sand blasting and the letters are painted black, bright blue, navy blue or green.

On smaller signs and memorial plaques the lettering can just be lasered into the timber.

Pictures
We can include simple pictures on the signs. We have a selection CLICK HERE - or you can send in your own artwork -
It must be a silhouette style image without any very fine lines or shades. is £12.50 per standard image, £34.50 for your own artwork.

Sizes
The Douglas Fir is planed down to approx.33mm thick. The planks come in at 225mm and 300mm wide but we join timbers for larger signs. - see the chart below for pricing. For other large signs try English Oak or Red Cedar.
