Aluminium Signage
Our range of aluminium signage is vast and versatile! Made from 3mm aluminium, our signs include flat plate sign boards, large tray signs, nameplates, aluminium plates with fixing channels, and double-sided business signs on posts.
We also offer finger posts and bullnose edging where required. Designed with vinyl, our aluminium signs are low maintenance and of great quality, providing you with the opportunity to personalise a sign that works perfectly for you.
Fibreglass Business Signs
Fibreglass (GRP) have massive advantage over other sign systems. Although comparatively light, they are extremely strong and therefore resistant to vandalism and weathering.
The sign boards are manufactured to any RAL colour plus black and white. The colours are a shade guide only as the actual signs are much richer and brighter as you would expect from pigmented fibreglass
ToughPrint Signs and Memorials
You won't get tougher than our tough print signs and memorials! Designed to last and weather the storms (literally), our tough print signage is moisture, abrasion, scratch, and fade-resistant. These plaques and signs can even be used in very harsh weather conditions - including by the sea.
These pieces can include small text, photos and printed designs. As well as being very durable, they are also resistant to graffiti and acids.

Our selection includes powder-coated steel brackets, wrought iron brackets, and wooden posts with hanging arms. The panels are available in various materials, including wood, aluminium, aluminium composite, and PVC. Additionally, we provide a variety of projecting signs to meet your signage needs.

Sign Boards
We craft a range of sign boards made from PVC, Aluminium Composite, Aluminium, Painted Tricoya, Fibreglass, and Clear Acrylic. Our custom sign boards are particularly popular with businesses and commercial properties because we design them with their environment in mind, ensuring they last as long as possible.
We offer Aluminium, Composite, and PVC boards suitable for full-color printed vinyl or cut vinyl lettering. These boards are available with or without posts and are also ideal for information boards. Suitable for both indoor and outdoor use, our signboards provide excellent value and durability.

Painted Wooden Signs
At The Sign Maker, we are experiencing a revival in our painted wood signs which blend traditional craftsmanship with modern look. In contrast to the prevalence of vinyl signage, painted wood signs bring a distinct warmth and character. We use various timbers for the painted wooden sign, including Oak, Sapele, and Tricoya (a waterproof wood-based board), and paint them with most RAL colours plus Farrow and Ball matches. These signs are perfect as double-sided hanging signs, house signs, and entrance signs on posts.
To ensure lasting beauty and durability, we use a durable polyurethane paint mixed with a hardener which provides exceptional protection against the elements.
Outdoor Notice Boards
Given that notice boards are possibly a more traditional sign, we enjoy giving these signs The Sign Maker touch. From notice boards to menu cases and poster cases - we craft our notice boards to last in the outdoor elements; all strong, secure and waterproof. Headers are available if required, and we can supply posts for support.

Pavement Signs

Oak Framed Entrance Signs
These wooden-framed signs are beautiful entrance signs for large houses, farms, or businesses. Using a combination of traditional oak with modern aluminium composite, we have created an elegant sign to grace any entrance.
There are four standard sizes, but as always, we make them to any size and can use other materials for the panels. They are also available blank for other sign makers.
Finger Posts
There are various options with the finger posts. Wooden finger posts can be made from natural oak or iroko with 70mm or 95mm posts. The large posts can be octagonal or square. Oak is normally treated with a commercial long life satin varnish, Iroko wood with Devon oil.
There is also a range of painted wooden finger posts. You can have one finger or up to seven fingers on a post. Aluminium finger posts are also available.
Painted Sign Boards
If you are looking for a more traditional-looking sign with painted letters, these sign boards may be your answer. The board is a wood-based board made using a high-performance resin. It is very stable, strong, durable and weatherproof. It is sprayed using is a two-pack polyurethane paint, which is much more durable than standard brush-on paints
Lectern Display Stands
These are normally mounted at a 45-degree angle and usually display information panels. They are ideal for adults, children, and those in wheelchairs. We can make the timbers in our workshops, so these can be made to any size. We also have some tough steel lecterns in various sizes.
Apart from the lectern with cover, we can quote for larger panels to fit on each of the lecterns stands.

Engraved Plaques - Stone Like Corian
Although not actually stone, but stone-like corian is a perfect material for engraved plaques. It can be used for house signs, large and small, nameplates as well as detailed memorial plaques. It also has the advantage of being virtually maintenance free. Available in many stone colours along with white and green
Aluminium Composite Sign Boards
3 mm Aluminium Composite is composed of a thermoplastic polyethene core sandwiched between two aluminium alloy sheets, producing high-quality boards ideal for business signs, farm & estate signage. Available in many interesting finishes, Signs made with cut vinyl lettering have a longer lifespan than full-colour printing.
Solid Aluminium Sign Boards
Simple but exceptionally durable and long lasting. Available in many sizes, with 14 standard board colours and even more letter colours, these boards are ideal for business signs that are to be fixed to walls or wooden posts. The addition of a bullnose edge can make for an impressive entrance sign.
Wooden Ladder Signs
Wooden ladder signs are ideal for use as entrance signs, especially when listing more than one property, such as where several houses share a drive or at the entrance of a business park. s standard they can have one, two, three or even four signs in various sizes.
We offer a variety of choices in timber, sizes, and the number of signs on the posts. These signs can be painted in tough commercial two-pack paint, treated with high gloss coach enamel, satin varnished, or oiled. As always, other variations can be quoted for.

Aluminium Composite Sign Boards - Full Colour
These are strong, durable, yet light weight. They are ideal for any good-quality signage. All full-colour prints are laminated for a longer lifespan. Discounts are available for ready-to-print artwork.
As well as basic boards we can supply frames and posts.
Aluminium Signage for Posts
This signage is ideal for business signs. It is made with solid aluminium sign board but with channels fitted on the reverse. They can be supplied with fixings to attach to round posts, square posts, farm gates or other tubing.
Aluminium posts can also be supplied in grey or matching colours. Fixing clips supplied.
Wooden Framed Signs - Single Sided
Aluminium composite is a good quality board, strong and durable, yet alone it looks rather uninteresting. It is however completely transformed when you surround it with a beautiful wooden frame. The smaller wooden framed signs are ideal for home signs whereas the larger ones make very classy business signs.
Reflective Sign Boards and Nameplates
These sign boards are durable, lightweight, extremely flat, rigid, and do not corrode. Once you have chosen the font, size and colour, the engineering-grade reflective lettering is applied to the boards & house nameplates. These signs are easily spotted day or night.
Superior TOUGH PRINT Aluminium Signs
A range of printed signs which are superior to most other full-colour sign boards. They are comparable to vitreous enamel at considerably less cost. The colour quality is superb, with a long-term resistance to fading. They are printed directly onto aluminium and then encapsulated with a heat-treated coating, which is very robust, easy to clean and has anti-vandal and graffiti-resistant properties.
They are available as flat plate, with fixing channels and posts and as tray signs. Reflective and photoluminescent signs are also available.
Aluminium Tray Signs
Our Aluminium Tray Signs are strong, well-made, and available in 120 RAL colours. They are perfect for large signs and situations where your signboard needs extra presence. With hidden fixings, these tray signs are ideal for warehouses.
Our tray signs, made from 3 mm thick aluminium, are manufactured to order using the latest folding technology. They feature welded and dressed corners for a seamless finish. These one-piece trays require no additional strengthening.
Large Wooden Signage
We use five timbers for the large signs—oak, Iroko, Sapele, Red Cedar, and Douglas Fir—each with particular advantages and disadvantages. All timbers are at least 30mm thick but can be as much as 47mm. We can make boards up to almost any size. The large oak signs are the most popular choice, but the other timbers should be considered.
Industrial Estate Signage
With our workshops onsite we can combine materials and skills. With this entrance sign we have a timber outer frame which can be oak or Iroko. The inner part is made from aluminium and is bolted to the timber frame. It has removable aluminium panels which can be slide in and out. These signs are ideal for an industrial estate situated in the countryside.
We can make to any size but we have listed some of our standard sizes. The timber can be varnished Oak or the hardwood Iroko which we oil using Devon Oil.
Large Slate Signage
For our large slate signs we use slate at 20mm, 30mm or 50mm thick. The signs are available in four standard heights - 225mm (9 inches), 300mm (12 inches), 450mm (18 inches), 600mm (24 inches) They can be cut to any length as required. Lettering can also be raised and unpainted as shown in the photo for the word - residential..
Large Douglas Fir Signs & Douglas Fir Memorial Plaques
Douglas Fir is reddish brown to yellow/orange in colour with a straight grain and is characterized by exceptional strength, hardness, and durability. It is very tough and water resistant, making it useful in exposed situations where maintenance is difficult. The grain is coarser than oak, and hairline cracks tend to be a timber feature. The coarser grain can occasionally cause a slight paint bleed along the grain. However, this is only noticeable up close, so it doesn't affect the appearance of larger signage. For smaller memorial plaques, we suggest leaving the lettering lasered and unpainted.
Metal Signs - Name Plates
We offer a diverse range of metal signs suitable for all locations. For coastal areas, our ToughPrint signs are perfect, made from encapsulated aluminium for extra durability. If you prefer signs with raised lettering, we provide options in etched zinc, cast iron, brass, bronze, and aluminium, as well as cost-effective embossed aluminium.
Additionally, we offer engraved metal plaques in brass, coloured aluminium, and stainless steel. Whether you need robust signs for harsh environments or elegant plaques for a refined look, we have the ideal solution for you.
Wooden Signs
Natural wooden signs crafted using a variety of timbers. The Sign Maker handcrafts wooden signage from English Oak, Sapele, Iroko, Douglas Fir, Cherry, Chestnut Red Cedar, Opepe, Balau and Accoya (amongst a few others). Made to order wooden signs and memorials sustainably crafted by an award-winning team and a senior carpenter.

Sign Fittings & Fixings
We offer a vast array of products for installing your sign or memorial plaque. Our selection includes various stainless steel shackles and eye plates, an extensive range of wrought iron items such as tree stakes, hooks, and railing bars.
Additionally, we provide wrought iron hanging brackets and a wide variety of other brackets. You'll also find screws with cover heads, adhesives, and everything else you need for a secure and attractive installation.

Posts for Signs Wooden, Steel and Aluminium
This page features a selection of posts, but our carpenters and blacksmiths can create custom designs to meet your specific needs. We primarily use oak and iroko for wooden posts. Oak is a beautiful, strong, and long-lasting timber, while iroko, similar to teak, is rich in natural oils, requiring less maintenance. For painted wooden posts, we use sapele, the most stable hardwood. Additionally, we offer a range of metal posts, including handcrafted steel and standard round aluminum.
Rigid Projecting Signs & Brackets
We have a good selection of rigid projecting signs and sign brackets. These are similar to the hanging signs in many ways but they do not swing in the wind. There are many shapes, sizes and styles to suit all budgets and situations.
The signs can be cut vinyl, full colour printed or painted. The materials include the wood based board - tricoya, 19mm PVC and 3mm aluminium
